Rodney Graham (CA, °1949) lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. He is one of the representatives of post conceptual photography of Vancouver School. This movement began in the 1980s among Jeff Wall and Stan Douglas. Graham’s work is characterized by a genre transcending oeuvre. Besides photography, his work includes music, film, installations and painting. Graham makes narrative works full of references to art history, film and literature. In combining art history and pop culture, Graham questions his own identity. Despite the many-layered and complex works of art, Graham’s work is very inviting for the viewer due to his wit and humour.
