Marina Gadonneix (FR, °1977) meticulously observes our environment and the stories behind it. She is looking for the architectural reality of our daily lives, with a special eye for the, sometimes bizarre, but often aesthetical construction or mise-en-scène. The Parisian draws awareness to the porosity between documentary and fiction, simulation and illusion. She sharply captures how our “screen culture” is fabricated in many phoney versions and simulacra. With a preference for television, film set or server rooms, she gives an insight into desolate, often surprising settings.
